Hook Arts Media seeks Production Coordinator/Stage Manager for 2020 Red Hook Fest 

Hook Arts Media (HAM) seeks a Production Coordinator/Stage Manager for the 27th annual Red Hook Fest, a two-day arts festival taking place June 5th and 6th, 2020 featuring top talent in music and dance on the beautiful Brooklyn waterfront. Opportunity to work on a highly respected grassroots community festival that attracts a diverse audience of 4500+.

Scope of Responsibilities: Production Coordinator/Stage Manager works directly with the Associate Producer to coordinate and oversee all technical aspects of the festival.  Responsibilities include attending monthly production meetings from March-May; frequent communication with Associate and Executive Producers; working with artists to address their technical needs; contracting all sound, stage, and equipment; working with Associate Producer to hire, train and deploy all volunteers, stage crew; stage managing opening night and mainstage events; creating show flows and production schedules; overseeing load in and load out.

Post Festival work includes scheduling and coordinating loadout, pick-ups post-festival signage and other items as well as returns of any borrowed equipment; attendance at a wrap meeting and submission of the final report.

About the Position: Ideal candidate will have previous experience stage managing outdoor performance events in NYC; have excellent organizational skills; ability to create detailed spreadsheets and manage Google Drive documents; strong communication skills with people of all ages and backgrounds; previous experience installing Marley dance floors a plus; can work independently and as a member of a team.  Driver’s license and vehicle a plus.

Schedule and Compensation: This is a part-time position that commences in February 2020 and runs through June 15, 2020, with the heaviest commitment the week of the festival. (Approximately 80 hrs) Fee commensurate with experience, in the range of $2,000-$3000.
