In 2013, Hook Arts Media collaborated with Red Hook Initiative, the South Brooklyn Community High School, and Good Shepherd Services to launch a summer filmmaking intensive called Digital Boot Camp. Digital Boot Camp provides local teens and young adults with 80 hours of rigorous instruction in digital filmmaking. The program culminates in several mini-documentaries about local businesses and social service organizations.

Digital Boot Camp program includes in-school filmmaking residencies at NYC high schools as well as community-based media programs. All participants earn hourly wages for their participation in the program, made possible by the Red Hook Initiative and the South Brooklyn Community High School’s Learning to Work program.
