IN TRANSITION MEDIA
This program is designed to train beginner to intermediate-level filmmakers how to produce cause-based documentaries from pre-production, production to post production. The course will culminate with a celebratory film screening for students to showcase their completed films to friends, family and industry supporters.
Eligible students must be between 16 – 24 years of age and available to commit to all classes. All students will receive minimum wage equivalent stipends while participating in the program.
DATES:
SPRING: March – May 2025
FALL: October – December 2025
TIMES: Tuesdays 4p – 6p & Saturdays 1p – 4p

In 2013, Hook Arts Media collaborated with Red Hook Initiative, the South Brooklyn Community High School, and Good Shepherd Services to launch a summer filmmaking intensive called Digital Boot Camp. In Transition: Media, our after-school filmmaking program, grew out of the summer Digital Boot Camp, in collaboration with Red Hook Initiative, South Brooklyn Community High School, and Good Shepherd Services.
